Honeymoon: Romantic Honeymoon Safari in the Northern Circuit of Tanzania!!
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport – Ilboru Safari Lodge
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. There issue your visa (50 US per person – or 100 US per person if US Citizen), get your luggage and go through customs. Meet and greet with our driver and then transfer to Ilboru Safari Lodge. This will take about 45 to 1 hour. Rest of the day for leisure. Dinner and overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Arusha National Park with walking and game drive or with game drive and canoeing
Your driver will pick you up in the morning from the lodge and take you to Arusha National Park. Once there, you will begin with a hike together with a ranger at the foothills of Mount Meru and spend the rest of the day with game drive. OR: You can do a morning game drive and a canoe trip on one of the Momella lakes in the afternoon. A guide will take you safely between the hippos and birds throughout. After that return to Ilboru Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park
In the morning, your driver will pick you from the lodge and you go to Tarangire National Park. Watch the animals along the Tarangire River in their natural environment. Dinner and overnight in the romantic Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Tarangire National Park Information:
Tarangire National Park is one of 11 national parks in Tanzania. It is located south-west of Arusha in the Lake Manyara region. The Tarangire River flows through the park even in the dry season and is the only water source for the wildlife. Therefore, the wildlife in the park is very rich dring dry sesaon. The landscape consists of savannah and the river. The park is 2600 square kms and is located on 900m altitude.
Furthermore the park is well known for its uncountable baobab trees, the large number of elephants and various species of birds.
Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before you start your safari to the next national park – Lake Manyara. This park fascinates through its interplay between Lake and forest. Girafes, Buffaloes, Dik Diks and Impalas will cross your way. After picnic lunch enjoy the game drives and proceed to Karatu to KUDU Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Lake Manyara National Park information:
Lake Manyara National Park is home for in East Africa rarely found groundwater forest, which merges into grassland with acacia trees and open grassland. On the shores you will find marsh land. The park is home to about 20 to 30 lions, who particularly like to rest on the trees, some leopards and monkeys many different genera. In the park you can finde many giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, zebras, hippos and large herds of buffalo.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Today you will go to the world famous Serengeti. On the way you can visit the Cradle of Mankind – the Olduvai Gorge (please pay the entry for the museum cash there, it is not included in the price) and you can inform yourself about the area at Naabi Hill Gate. Game en route to Seronera Wildlife Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Lodge.
Serengeti National Park Information
The Serengeti is a treeless savanna, which covers the north of Tanzania, east of Lake Victoria, for about 30,000 square kilometers.
There live more than 1.6 million herbivores and thousands of predators. Common animals in this region are wildebeest, gazelles, zebras and buffalo. A unique experience is the migration of large herds of animals.
The word “Serengeti” is derived from the Maasai language and means “wide area”. Broad, flat grassy plains to the south are hilly change to slightly wooded plains in the north. The central Savannah is almost treeless and in the southeast you can find the Ngorongoro conservation area (World Heritage Site since 1979). The highest mountains are about 1,850 m above sea level, lower parts of the savannah reach “down” to about 950 m.
Day 6: Serengeti – Balloon Safari
Today you will go on balloon safari over the Serengeti Plains. Early morning (5 AM) your driver will bring you to the starting point of the balloon safari. You fly for 1 hour over the Serengeti plains and enjoy the view from above. Back on earth a champagne breakfast is waiting for you and a certificate for your balloon flight. After that your driver will pick you up and proceeds with the game drives for the rest of the day.Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife lodge.
Please note: Balloon safaris are only possible from central and western Serengeti.
Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Today you will leave Serengeti National Park and return to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will overnight at the Ngorongoro Crater Rim at Wildlife Lodge.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today you will do an unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater Tour. At the beginning you will descend into the crater – 600m from the rim to the floor. When you reach the bottom, start your game drive and discover this breathtaking landscape. Wildebeests, zebras and lions will cross your way. Enjoy your picnic lunch next to the hippo pool. After the game drive ascend the steep crater wall with the safari car and return to Wildlife Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Wildlife Lodge.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area Information:
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is located between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara. Within the protected area is the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the largest caldera in the world. The crater is 600m deep and 260 square km in size and offers the diversity of East African scenery and wildlife in a confined space.
